Erste: student discount for verified students – 26+ years: selfie account opening. Free activation in the Diverzum app.
How to Use?
You need to enter the referral code you get here in the Diverzum app when opening your account. There will be a “Do you have a referral code?” page where you will enter the code. Copy and save the code you get when you redeem the offer.
If you can’t find it later, you can always return to the Diverzum app and copy the referral code again.
If you start opening the account on a weekend, bank confirmation may take up to 48 hours, but it will definitely arrive on a working day, no action needed.
Erste bank account (online account opening)
The offer is only available for those over 26 years old.
The offer applies to opening the following accounts:
- EgySzámla (with transaction condition, occasional transfer discount)
- Privilégium X fee package
- George fee package
How to open your account?

▶️ Prepare the necessary documents: valid ID card and address card.
Account opening process:
Download the George Hungary (George App) from the App Store or Google Play Store and open the app.
Click on the “Not an Erste customer?” tile (NOT the Login)
Prepare your documents
Make the necessary declarations (=go through the process)
Enter your real email address (this will also be your ID later) and enter the Erste confirmation code you receive by email into the app interface (it may take 1-3 minutes to get the code by email)
Declare that you are not a public figure and act on your own behalf.
Photograph the front and back of your chip ID card, avoiding glare.
Scan the chip in the ID card with NFC: touch the back of your phone to the ID and hold still until successful reading.
Take a selfie for identification in the app. Do not wear glasses, have a bright background, and place your face in the center of the circle.
Follow the moving dot on the screen with your eyes (this proves you are a live person, not a robot).
Photograph the address side of your address card.
Check the data recognized by the system. If everything is correct, proceed.
Choose “Account and card” for the question about what you need.
AT THIS POINT, ENTER THE REFERRAL CODE YOU GET IN THE DIVERZUM APP BY SWIPING THE SLIDER
Choose one of the following bank account packages (these qualify you for the 120,000 HUF - you can browse the options by swiping).
- EgySzámla
- Privilégium X fee package
- George fee package
Choose the associated bank card (e.g. Debit, Gold).
Change the mailing address if you want the bank card delivered somewhere other than the address on your address card.
Set what notifications you want on your phone (e.g. transfers, card payments - these may have extra fees).
Review and check the tax declarations.
Fill out the customer profile questionnaire.
Check your data on the “Summary” tab.
Set your transfer limit.
Enter your phone number where the code for signing can be sent.
Read and accept the contract and information (scroll to the bottom of the pages - “I have read and accept” button).
Enter the one-time ID code received by SMS. This electronically signs the contract.
You are eligible for the offer if:
▶️ You have not had an Erste bank account in the last 180 days
▶️ You made all necessary declarations during the process
▶️ You do not close your account for AT LEAST TWO YEARS from the account opening
▶️ You are at least 26 years old
How to get the 120,000 HUF credit?
👉 You get 10,000 HUF if you open an account online with a Diverzum referral code. Deadline: complete by 31.12.2026.
👉 You get 50,000 HUF if you also request a card in the Erste account opening promotion and digitize it (e.g. Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.). Deadline: by the end of the month following account opening
👉 You get 10,000 HUF if you make at least 3 purchases with the bank card linked to the account opened with the Diverzum referral code and receive at least one single incoming transfer of 100,000 HUF. Deadline: complete by 28.02.2027.
👉 You get 50,000 HUF if in the Erste account usage promotion you receive at least 100,000 HUF in two consecutive months as single transfers, activate the Round-Up function, and make at least one booked Round-Up transaction. Deadline: complete by 31.03.2027.
When will the money arrive in your account?
If you meet all conditions and are eligible:
💸 10,000 HUF for opening an account with the Diverzum referral code: arrives by the 15th of the month following account opening
💸 50,000 HUF Erste promotion for card request and digitization: arrives by the end of the month following completion
💸 10,000 HUF for 3 card purchases and one incoming 100,000 HUF transfer: arrives by the 15th of the month following completion
💸 50,000 HUF for two consecutive months’ 100,000 HUF transfers and one booked Round-Up transaction: arrives by the end of the month following completion.
Account-related fees (annual fee for the cheapest card among the selectable cards):
Account management fee: 0-4,521 HUF (depends on account package and monthly fee conditions)
Bank card issuance fee: 7,798 HUF (Visa Debit card, only first year)
Bank card annual fee: 7,798 HUF (Visa Debit card, from 2nd year)
The promotion applies only to independent online account openings, not valid if opened with branch assistance! As a foreign citizen, you can only start the account opening process at an Erste branch if you have a Hungarian authority-issued card-format ID or driver’s license or passport AND address card! Offer validity
