What are the conditions for at least 3 purchases?

You can pay in-store with a physical card, or using Apple Pay or Google Pay. You can also pay online by providing your credit card details. There is no minimum spending amount set.

What is my Erste username?

Your username in the George app is the email address you provided during registration; this is how you can log in to the application.

I created my ERSTE online bank account over the weekend, but I haven't received any feedback on redeeming the Diverzum referral code. Why could this be?

On weekends, Erste Bank does not send out contracts or activation codes. You will receive the confirmation via SMS from the bank on the next business day.

Where exactly should I enter the Diverzum code?

During the account opening process, there will be a section where it asks for the referral code. Enter the Diverzum code here. Make sure to use the code you received in Diverzum. You can always go back to the Diverzum app and copy it again.

Can I also take advantage of the student offer as a foreign citizen?

Yes, if you have a Hungarian document, you can open the account at a bank branch.

When will the money (discount) be credited to my account?

The first 10,000 HUF will be received by the 15th of the month following the account opening, and the first 40,000 HUF by the end of the second month after the account opening. The second 10,000 HUF will be received by the 15th of the month following the fulfillment of the conditions (when there are 3 transactions and 1 credit), and the second 40,000 HUF by the end of the month following the fulfillment of the conditions (when there is a rounding transaction and 2 transfers in 2 consecutive months).

Where can I enable the Rounding feature?

To use the rounding feature, you first need to have a target savings account, which you can open within the George app. Type "Rounding" in the search bar of the George app.

Will I be notified when the amount arrives?

Yes, if you have enabled push notifications (or the SMS service) in the George app, you will see immediately when the amount arrives in your account.

If I forgot to request a debit card during the bank account opening process, can I still obtain it later?

Yes, in the George app, under the Store menu → Cards section, you can request a debit card later as well.

How to Use?

You need to enter the referral code you get here in the Diverzum app when opening your account. There will be a “Have a referral code?” page where you must enter the code. Copy and save the code you get when you redeem the offer.
If you can’t find it later, you can return to the Diverzum app anytime and copy the referral code again.
If you start the account opening on a weekend, bank confirmation may take up to 48 hours, but it will definitely arrive on a working day, no action needed from you.

How to open the account?

Account opening steps:

Download the George Hungary (George App) from the App Store or Google Play and open it.
Click the “Not an Erste customer?” tile (NOT the Login)
Prepare your documents
Make the necessary declarations (complete the process)
Enter your real email address (this will be your ID later) and enter the Erste confirmation code you receive by email into the app interface (it may take 1-3 minutes to get the code by email)
Declare that you are not a public figure and act on your own behalf.
Photograph the front and back of your chip ID card, avoiding glare.
Scan the chip in the ID with NFC: touch your phone’s back to the ID and hold still until successful.
Take a selfie for identification in the app. Don’t wear glasses, have a bright background, and center your face in the circle.
Follow the moving dot on the screen with your eyes (to prove you’re a live person, not a robot).
Photograph the address side of your address card.
Check the data recognized by the system. If all is correct, proceed.
Select “Account and card” when asked what you need.

Choose the related bank card (e.g. Student, Debit, Gold).
Change the mailing address if you want the card sent somewhere other than the address on your address card.
Set what notifications you want on your phone (e.g. transfer, card payment - these may have extra fees).
Review and check the tax declarations.
Fill out the customer profile questionnaire.
Check your data on the “Summary” tab.
Set your transfer limit.
Enter your phone number to receive the code needed for signing.
Read and accept the contract and information (scroll to the bottom - “I have read and accept” button).
Enter the one-time ID code received by SMS. This signs the contract electronically.

You are eligible for the offer if:

How to get the 120,000 HUF credit?
👉 You get 10,000 HUF if you open an account online with a Diverzum referral code. Deadline: complete by 31.12.2026.
👉 You get 50,000 HUF if you apply for a card in the Erste account opening promotion and digitize it (e.g. Apple Pay, Google Pay). Deadline: by the end of the month after account opening
👉 You get 10,000 HUF if you make at least 3 purchases with the bank card linked to your Diverzum referral code account and receive at least one single payment of 50,000 HUF (100,000 HUF if not choosing Student EgySzámla). Deadline: complete by 28.02.2027.
👉 You get 50,000 HUF if in the Erste account usage promotion you receive at least 50,000 HUF in two consecutive months (100,000 HUF if not choosing Student EgySzámla), activate the Round-up function, and make at least 1 booked Round-up transaction. Deadline: complete by 31.03.2027.

When does the money arrive in your account?
If you meet all conditions and are eligible:

💸 50,000 HUF Erste promotion for card application and digitization: arrives by the end of the month after completion
💸 10,000 HUF for 3 card purchases and one 50,000 HUF payment (100,000 HUF if not Student EgySzámla): arrives by the 15th of the month after completion
💸 50,000 HUF for two consecutive months’ 50,000 HUF payments (100,000 HUF if not Student EgySzámla) and one booked Round-up transaction: arrives by the end of the month after completion.

Card issuance fee: 2,692 HUF (Visa Student card, first year only)
